President Trump has announced a troop increase in Afghanistan. This is contrary to his stated preference to reduce US involvement there both last fall and in recent weeks. The full solar eclipse across his Ascendant today probably has something to do with this development. Trump was born under an eclipse -- according to 20th century astrologers Charles Jayne and Lorne Johndro, natives born during eclipses tend to thrive under eclipse transits (unlike the rest of us). So reports by liberal astrologers that the eclipse will kill Trump are probably the opposite of the truth if Jayne and Johndro (whose research is quite extensive) are correct. Also, transiting retrograde Chiron at 27 Pisces is square Trump's progressed Pallas at 27 Sagittarius. Similar past transits (such as this one) have caused Trump to act against his normal bent. Perhaps he will rethink this strategy when Chiron makes the next direct pass against his progressed Pallas next spring, if not before. The eclipse was also opposite the US Sibley Pallas, suggesting an ethical "blackout" for the nation. This is reflected both in the foreign policy change and in recent political violence.
